Brand Stylescapes
In our discovery for the project, we identified five brand behaviours that the team wanted to use as the base for the aesthetic. Transparent, Commited, Adaptable, Modern, and Integrated. We used these to build a set of three styles. Exploring connection and adaptability through grid designs with Swiss influences. We ran with a combination of the top and middle options below.

Logo

The name Sarisa comes from the Greek "Sarissa". The term for a long spear used by ancient Macedonians in battle. These longer spears were used to create strength on a line by overlapping and connecting the weapons. Working together to create a powerful force. These references are related to Sarisas integrated services that when used together form a powerful business.

We explored many options beyond this, but we started and ended at the spear influenced mark. With its powerful reference, and the interesting shapes it created in our sketches, it always stood out of the pack.

We landed on the final shield shape to represent the heritage we found in the leadership team. The staggered lines are built from circles to create the final form. The resulting shapes reference both pointed "sarissa" spears, and form the letter S.

Brand Activation

The Sarisa stakeholders are Eastern European, with strong family history and a deep respect to their culture. We explored cyrillic font exploration, and looked at the color palettes and sturdy layouts of soviet-era design.

The final brand palette uses a bright red and navy pairing with plenty of white space for a clean look. We also built a complex, but sophisticated and structured grid system to use as a graphic device in materials.

Brand guidelines

The Grid System

Our grid system was Inspired by Swiss Style of the 1940s. Often characterized by highly structured layouts and sans-serif typefaces that achieve a clear, legible, and harmonious design. A big part of typesetting in the Swiss Style is the use of grids.

The Sarisa symbol was built using a series of overlapping circles. This influenced our grid starting point as well. Breaking a circle into its simplest pieces, and then building a rational for the graphic device around color harmony and structure.

Website Strategy & Design

Sarisa only had a landing page up for the brand when we started, so there was a lot to strategize during our website discovery.

We worked closely with the Arcsec Digital dev team to approach the site from a content-first perspective. Understanding what made Sarisa different, and what users care about most in the industry.

The resulting site combines the brands visuals with great strategy to give Sarisa an effective digital presence to use in their sales funnel.
